What else the OpenTrade platform offers
In addition to offering legal sports wagering, the Scientific Games’ OpenTrade platform provides players with a ton of extra fun features. One of these features is sports tournaments, and the platform will give players access to more than 300,000 of these every year. This new agreement between Scientific Games and the BCLC will see a new platform called OpenSports launched. In addition to a user-friendly interface that welcomes players over and over again, it also will offer a ton of promotions and scoreboards.
The only thing missing now it seems for players in BCLC are sports to actually bet on.
Most of the world’s professional sports leagues halted their seasons due to the coronavirus pandemic that has swept the globe. Some professional soccer leagues have resumed play in Europe, albeit on a slower scale and without fans in the stands. North American sports are beginning to organize and are trying to resume play within the next month, but it’s anyone’s guess whether they will be able to return at all, or even finish a season successfully if they do return. With the coronavirus raging in the United States still, it’s anyone’s guess at this point.
Scientific Games is a known factor in Canada
The BCLC has been partnering with Scientific Games for sports wagering services for some time now, but it’s not the only province that does so. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation extended its partnership with the company back in 2018. That agreement will see the two collaborate on sports gambling offerings through 2022. It’s telling that multiple Crown corporations use the company that’s based out of Las Vegas. It’s a great sign for players, in fact.
